The shoulder is still smarting. Rubyrae has headed off to try and get me some first aid, so I may not see her about for a few days. I hope she is ok – still such a young hobbit, although she can stand her own ground well enough.
The next few days promise to be a bit slow. I was looking back at Frodo’s own account of his journey, and there is little to say about the next four days. There was much complaining about the bleak environment, although for me I find it somewhat appealing.
Although I am edging slowly towards the last bridge (very slowly!), I can still see the forboding view of Weathertop in the distance. How grand this must have looked in the days of the kings.
As with Frodo, I am staying clear of the road as much as possible. For the young inexperienced adventurer this would be a very dangerous place. I have spied many a half orc nearby (my my I hope Rubyrae is alright – she has no Strider to protect her!).
Well that is me done for the night. I will continue my slow trek tomorrow.
