I left the Bombadil household bright and early, and made my way out of the Old Forest and onwards to the Old Barrow Road. Here I found a group of travellers, each trying to persuade me to help them out. From killing rats to barghests to finding old barrows. Don’t they realise that I am a very busy hobbit, with a quest to do? I was however touched to hear that Bob had lost Lalia, and decided that I would seek her out and rescue her.
Now she truly is a troublesome young lass! Quite lost she was in the fog, and kept taking me in the wrong direction. She should have listened to me calling her – I’ve been here loads of times and know my way around like the back of my hand! Even in the fog.
Anyway, after many wights were slain, together with the odd other attacking vermain, I managed to safely escort her to the exit of the Barrow Downs. Hmmm I bet Frodo wished he had found it so easily!
Now, as you can imagine, I was quite tempted to exit at that point and make my way to the Prancing Pony. I could nearly taste the froth on the beer! But, well I have to do this journey properly, so instead I wandered aimlessly around in the fog until I found myself in a barrow. Very unwelcoming despite all of its history! Decidely cold, and not somewhere I would choose to sleep. But…… it is here that my journey ends tonight. Hmmm what was that tapping me on the shoulder :s
